A woman had just pulled up into the parking lot of the Pentagon. A representative from the Herman Miller Furniture in Zeeland, West Michigan, she was preparing for a presentation as part of a plan to remodel some of the offices in the five sided federal building.
But something stopped her as she sat frozen her in her car seat. Instead of heading into the building for the morning meeting, she punched in the phone number of one of her colleagues who had already arrived and was inside the building with several other employees, waiting for the meeting to start.
“We are cancelling the meeting. In addition I want everyone to exit the building immediately,” she said with urgency in her voice. Something was warning her to have her staff evacuate.
Fortunately they all listened to their boss and left. A few minutes, at 9: 37 American Airlines Flight 77 flew into the Pentagon. The date was September 11, 2001. The meeting would have taken place right near where the plane crashed.
I’m sharing this true story I heard while living in West Michigan, and wanted to share it while we remember the fifteenth anniversary of 9/11. In the midst of the terror, it’s one of many amazing stories of divine intervention.
