Hopefully not with a vengeance. That can get a little annoying.
I’ve been pretty laid back the last year because of a shoulder injury. Rotator cuff repair is not for the faint of heart as it takes a year to heal. I thought long and hard before I had this voluntary surgery, but the pain finally pushed me to go to a surgeon.
The good news is I’m learning lots about anatomy of the shoulder, I’m more patient with those in chronic pain, and my husband has been fabulous at encouraging me in this year-long recovery. This man who has large (what I call basketball hands because he played b ball in college) helped me dress, microwaved me dinner and combed my hair. For the first six weeks all I could hold in my right (dominant) hand was one sheet of paper. One. Forget about drying my hair, stirring a pot of soup or even typing a few sentences. Fortunately I have sweet grand kids who pray for my recovery and kind sons and daughters that have helped with meal prep. And, after about three months I can style my hair and put on make-up. I don’t take that for granted anymore.
And now for the big, even better new news …
Drum roll … Hallelujah chorus … and a one handed cartwheel all rolled into one.
I have a book contract. And, as a writing friend said, “It never gets old.” Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas will be publishing my third book, a sequel to Lake Surrender called Deep end of the Lake. For those who enjoyed Will and Ally, stay tuned. More adventures to come.
“Keep
reading. It’s one of the most marvelous adventures that anyone can have.”

This is such wonderful news about the publishing of your book and I can’t wait to read it! You have been faithful to continue to write in spite of your painful shoulder healing! So sorry you had to experience this but sometimes pain helps up to be grateful for what we have!
Glad you are blogging again! Always wonderful to hear from you!
Your avid reader of your books!

Congrats on the book publishing contract!! And, so sorry to hear about your recent surgery. My hubby had the same surgery, and it was not a fun recovery for him either. At least he didn’t have to worry about makeup and hair color! 🙂 Hope to see you in CBS.

Judy,
Thanks for stopping by. I love hearing from readers and hope to have more updates about my book in the near future. And yes, hair and makeup are almost impossible to do after this surgery so I looked
pretty bad for a while!
